Who we are
VoiceCard provides birth-announcement services to maternity and gynaecology hospitals in India: a staff app, a lobby-TV celebration screen, an AI voice greeting, and a shareable digital card for families. This policy explains what data we process, why, and the choices families and hospitals have. We process personal data under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP).
What data we process — and why
For each birth announcement, hospital staff enter, with the family at the desk:
- Parents' names, baby's sex, date and time of birth, optional birth weight — to compose the card and the voice greeting;
- An optional photograph of the baby — only with recorded consent of a parent or guardian (who consented and their relation is stored with the card);
- The greeting text (containing the parents' names) is converted to speech by our voice providers.
We deliberately collect no family phone numbers, no email addresses, and no medical information. Card pages set no advertising or analytics cookies; we count views without identifying viewers.
Children's data
A birth announcement is, by its nature, information about a newborn. We treat it accordingly: announcements are created only by the hospital with the family present; photos require recorded parental consent; card links are long random addresses that cannot be guessed and are hidden from search engines; link previews (e.g. on WhatsApp) show a generic celebration image, never the baby's photo or name.
How long we keep it
Deleting a card (which any family can request via their hospital, or via us directly) immediately removes the page and permanently deletes the photo, voice clip and share image from storage. Baby photos are additionally subject to automatic deletion after the retention period configured with the hospital.
Who else touches the data
- Voice synthesis: the greeting text (incl. parents' names) is sent to Sarvam AI and/or Google Cloud Text-to-Speech to generate the audio;
- Payments: hospital subscription payments are processed by Razorpay — we never see card/UPI credentials;
- Hosting & storage: our servers and media storage, located with our hosting providers;
- Error monitoring: technical error reports (not card content) may be processed by Sentry.
We do not sell or share personal data for advertising. Ever.
